Vischio per sempre is the Italian version of Mistletoe Forever and brings the same bittersweet story into a distinctly Italian lyrical and emotional landscape.

At the centre of the song is a love triangle — he, she, and the other. She arrives late at a pre-arranged meeting, leaving two men waiting: one holding mistletoe he picked himself, the other carrying a bouquet of lilacs he bought for her. What begins as romantic expectation slowly turns into disillusion — and finally into something unexpected.

Instead of rivalry, the two men are left with empty hands but an open possibility: they walk away together, celebrating the beginning of a sincere friendship. Vischio per sempre gently subverts the usual love-song narrative, shifting the focus from romantic fulfilment to honesty, vulnerability, and human connection.

Written and composed by Marco Santilli Rossi, the song combines irony, tenderness, and narrative clarity, turning a missed rendezvous into a reflection on emotional avoidance and unexpected solidarity.
